The fallen palm fronds were lying on the side of the road, awaiting trash day pick up. This site is ubiquitous in the tropics. In a more temperate climate, leaves and flowers drop seasonally, here they fall daily.

The beauty in the shapes of these discarded fronds draw me in, allowing my mind to relax. The shadows speak of sunlight. The curve of the “hilt” shows just how tightly it once held onto the tree.

A beautiful symbiosis is visible as these fronds find their way back to nourish the Earth that once nourished the tree. Their beauty can help to nourish you as well.
