This painting is a playful re-imagining of clouds as soft white hibiscus over Diamond Head. The centers of the flowers are pink, so perhaps this only occurs at dawn or dusk, when the sun paints the sky in luminous hues; a lovely reminder of the soft island air.

Enchanted by the mystery of its nighttime bloom, I plucked a bud as it began to open. Placing it in a vase, I was surprised to find it stayed open into early afternoon the following day. Left on the cactus, they wither by 9 a.m. That bloom became the first cereus I ever painted.
May this Queen infuse your dreams with the energy of a dragon to assist you in bringing them to fruition.
