Here is what my students have said about my classes:
“Patrice’s ‘Fun & Fundamentals’ class was inspiring, challenging and, of course, fun. Not only is she an experienced and accomplished artist, she’s a natural teacher. Many in the class were repeat attendees (for some, it was their 2nd or 3rd time). She attracts students who, like her, are kind and compassionate. It was the perfect class atmosphere for my wife and me, who were learning watercolor for the first time. We’ll definitely be back!” — David Bower
"I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your class yesterday. It was so informative and clear to understand. Some teachers are good at what they do, some are great at what they do, not many really know how to teach. The best teachers are ones who inspire. You are truly inspiring. Thanks so much for sharing, teaching, and inspiring." —Lynne Weir

About the Class:
In this five-session class, you’ll have fun while learning the properties of color and color mixing needed to create bright, luminous paintings.
First and foremost we will have FUN while learning to make friends with Watercolor. Many have told me they can't control the paint and that their paintings get muddy. I will show you how to "make friends with watercolor" and keep your bright colors bright!
You will the basics as well as the more advanced technique of negative painting to find your subject matter (hiding in the background). This includes painting where the subject is not, as well as softening edges, and providing contrast. This process works for all genres.
Best of all you’ll learn to see the world through the eyes of an artist, and to ask questions that will help you to unlock the messages within your paintings. Be amazed by the vistas opening up before you and within you.

Here’s what students are saying:
“I travel a lot, and this is the first opportunity I’ve had to learn to paint on a trip. Now that I’ve painted in Hawai‘i, I can paint anywhere. I wish I’d done this sooner!” —Monique Roeder, New York
“I learned more in two hours with Patrice than I did in a weekend workshop. Thanks!” —Mary Lemons, North Carolina
“As the parents of an elementary school child, we’ve been delighted and amazed by Patrice’s ability to teach and captivate our daughter’s attention and creative imagination. In just one lesson, our child learned to mix the watercolors and create a painting of Hawaii through her own eyes. The result is a piece of art we will long treasure.” — Juliette Verbeke, Calgary, Canada
