The flowers portrayed in this piece are Gardenia. We’re so spoiled in Hawai`i, many yards are fragrant with the sweet blooms of gardenia throughout spring into early summer. I was surprised to learn these small shrubs are in the coffee family. When brought indoors, their woody stems must be peeled to ensure the blooms, often sold in bunches, get enough water. Each kimono is 100% made with Polyester for that smooth & silky feel.
