The flower portrayed in this print is the Cattleya orchid. According to who you talk to, orchids are either quite easy to grow…as long as you remember to ignore them and be patient; or they are difficult to grow. Generally, they don’t like direct sunlight and they don’t like to get their “feet” (roots) wet. When cared for properly, they’ll bloom once a year … or when they’re ready.
I think of my orchid paintings as “Orchid Angels” and each one has a different gift to share. This angel offers a a gentle, quiet presence, a witness if you will, for anyone lucky enough to feel her patient, loving energy.
