Life, and our movement through it, forms the basis of my paintings. Watercolor is my medium of expression. The qualities of flow, movement, and change are evident in both the media and expression. Watercolor does not stand still, it searches out new surface areas to flow into and new colors to join. It is active and alive, keeping us watching and wondering what will happen next; it keeps us alert.
My paintings are up-close and intimate, ensuring the mana, Hawaiian for “energy”, is seen and felt. Lines and color are used to heighten a sense of movement and growth. The paintings are an affirmation of the process of life, and a visual reminder to stay connected to the life force energies surrounding us, and within us all.
